The Inspiring Futures Academy Celebration Event

Kirsten Warrender

In April we were finally able to resume in-person events after two years of putting these types of events on pause due to Covid-19. On Saturday 23rd of April 2022 our Inspiring Futures Academy graduates gathered at the Malmaison on Birmingham for afternoon tea, entertainment and an award ceremony.

This was the first chance for Inspiring Futures Academy members to meet their peers, along with their workshop hosts, Kelly Tamplin and Emma Quinn and Founder and CEO, Leigh Bowman-Perks.

Each graduate was presented with a certificate for their hard work in completing either Level 1 or 2 of the Inspiring Futures Academy , our a holistic, gender-responsive programme comprising mentorship, workshops, online learning, events and work opportunities.

We are confident that with the support of the academy, these women, who have all faced barriers in achieving financial independence, have come closer to achieving their personal goals with many demonstrating improvements to their confidence, wellbeing, employability skills, and autonomy.

“I am so thankful for today and all people who supported me getting here. The women here inspired me. Loved every moment.” said Charlotte, member of the Inspiring Futures Academy.

“I wanted to express my gratitude for all the work care you all do daily. Today’s event was so amazing intimate, thoughtful and with so much natural love As I was travelling back, I felt filled with love and thought what a celebration of life.”, said Javina, who joined the Inspiring Futures Academy this year.

The academy has helped the women to gain build healthy social times, with our volunteers and with their fellow academy members, with some of the women planning to meet again, to further nature these meaningful relationships. We were thrilled to hear that since joining the academy, some of the women had gained employment, bringing them closer to our end goal of economic independence.

But the journey doesn’t end here. We provide ongoing support for our people, regardless of their age or stage in life. Many of the graduates will go on to complete Level 3. This level promotes autonomy and leadership. Our people will be challenged each month to present to, educate and inspire their peers on a different leadership topic as well as engaging in wider learning opportunities and work experience.

If you or someone you know would benefit from our Inspiring Futures Academy programme, please see our registration forms here, or click here for more information

Finally, to our volunteers, donors, and team at the Inspiring Leadership Foundation we want to say thank you. It is with your time and generosity that we can help people like Laura or Sarah. If you are inspired by the work we do and would like to find more about how you can get involved
