Get ready for an unforgettable cycling challenge with the Inspiring Leadership Foundation (ILF).
Ride to Inspire 2027 will bring together cyclists, businesses, partners and supporters for an incredible 165-mile journey from Cambridge to Twickenham, raising vital funds to help people from disadvantaged and underserved backgrounds realise their potential through mentoring, development and life-changing career opportunities.
The Journey
Our adventure begins on Wednesday 12 May with a special opening event at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, bringing riders and supporters together before the challenge begins.
On Thursday morning, we’ll set off from Cambridge and take on approximately 165 miles (265 km) over two and a half days, travelling via Oxford and Henley before reaching our finish line in Twickenham.
Riders will cover up to approximately 75 miles a day, with the challenge culminating in a special celebration on Saturday afternoon. More details will be revealed as plans develop!
Is the Challenge for Me?
You don’t need to be an elite cyclist to take part. Ride to Inspire is designed for regular recreational cyclists who are comfortable spending around 6–8 hours a day on the road and riding at an average pace of approximately 10–13 mph.
To help you prepare, we recommend that riders have completed at least one 60-mile ride before taking on the challenge.

This is about much more than the miles.
Every rider will be helping ILF create opportunities for people who can too often be overlooked — connecting them with mentoring, skills, development and pathways into meaningful careers and greater economic independence.
By taking part, you’ll challenge yourself, meet an inspiring community of people and help us open doors for others.
