Welcome to our newest programme for 2024: The Business Entrepreneurship Pathway! Designed to support both budding and established entrepreneurs, this program aims to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge needed to successfully navigate the world of business ownership.
Pioneered by Maureen O’Callaghan, a seasoned entrepreneur and PHD student, this course is backed by years of real-world experience and a passion for empowering others. Maureen shares her journey:
“My upbringing instilled in me a strong work ethic from a young age. Starting my first job at 13, I’ve remained active in the workforce into my 70s. Over the years, I’ve held various roles, but it was in my thirties that I found my calling working with disadvantaged youth on a local, national, and global scale. Transitioning into freelance training and consulting allowed me to curate my career path, leading me to establish both a business and a social enterprise focusing on stress management. My experiences have fueled my commitment to research the positive impact businesses can have on society and the environment, culminating in the creation of an organization to share my findings. As a woman, I’ve faced and continue to face challenges in both life and career. I’m thrilled to collaborate with the Inspiring Leadership Foundation, empowering and being empowered by other women.”
Our course will run weekly on Thursdays at 6PM – 7:30PM, starting Thursday April 4th, 2024. Covering essential topics such as the business environment, accessing funding, and effective sales strategies, participants will gain invaluable insights and skills to propel their ventures forward. The program will culminate in December 2024 with a Dragons Den-style panel, providing participants with the opportunity to pitch their business ideas.
